Description
Gouaches from today.I've decided to try working on craft paper, since I find my gouaches not opaque enough. I must say, it gave me great pleasure to try something new. The paper dulls the colours a bit, but only at first, since when you come to the second, and then the third layer it looks fine. Besides, I like the texture of the craft paper much more than the one I got previously.
In addition to all that, I believe, colours and values are easier to judge and overall look better on a toned surface

To me these sketches look better than on white, too. I like to paint a canvas in grey (with a bit of colour in it) and the painting usually looks better with that different tone underneath, it can even be seen in a finished work and it won't spoil anything like white patches of canvas do
